Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Growing up in Pike County, Dr. Corcoran says that oral hygiene was not a priority for most people. She, however, loved getting her teeth cleaned and always noticed people’s smiles first. She knew she wanted to do something medical-based so she could help people, and this led her to shadow in a Columbus dental office. This experience made her certain that dentistry was what she wanted to do, and she’s so happy that she gets to practice in her hometown now.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Corcoran completed her undergraduate education and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The Ohio State University. Today, she is certified to offer Botox, dermal fillers, and Kybella treatments as well.
To stay on top of the latest advancements in dentistry, she is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Southern Ohio Dental Society, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Most of Dr. Corcoran’s free time is spent with family, whether she is relaxing with her husband (Dr. Privitera) and their son Grady or visiting her parents, three siblings, and their families, all of whom still live in Waverly. Her husband enjoys cooking, and this is great because she loves to eat! She is also a big traveler and has been to Uganda, Italy, Austria, the Bahamas, and Fiji, and hopes to visit more places soon.
