Get to Know Dr. Brandon Privitera
Dr. Privitera strives to help each of his patients achieve their dental goals no matter what they might be, and he works hard to keep things light and fun throughout the process. As a Waverly dentist, he knows that dental care makes a lot of people nervous, so he does his best to ensure his patients are comfortable both physically and mentally. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Privitera comes from a medical family—his dad is a podiatrist and his Uncle Andy is a dentist! Growing up, he would visit his uncle’s dental office for his routine dental checkups and teeth cleanings, and this is how he was first able to learn about the profession. He knew that he wanted to be in the medical field and work with his hands, but he was also certain that he didn’t want to treat people’s feet! So, dentistry won out, and he hasn’t looked back (or down) since.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Privitera earned his undergraduate degree as well as his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from The Ohio State University. Since finishing school, he has taken additional training on how to treat sleep apnea. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and the Southern Ohio Dental Society.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Privitera and his wife, Dr. Corcoran, met while in dental school and were married in January 2020. They adopted their dog, Charley, soon after, and in March 2022, they welcomed their first son, Grady, into the world. An avid sports fan, he rarely misses games featuring the Ohio State Buckeyes, Buffalo Bills, and the Buffalo Sabres. He also really likes to cook—especially grilling—and you’ll often find him firing up his charcoal grill year-round no matter the weather!
